About

Chipcinnati is Chip Mahaney, who just happens to live in Cincinnati. I’m a native Texan with 31 years of residency in my home state, but I’ve also lived in Connecticut, Oklahoma and Virginia. My family and I moved to Ohio in 2008 so that I could go to work for The E.W. Scripps Company and a new division supporting Internet/digital news-content initiatives developed by the company’s 10 TV stations.

My job focuses on leading and supporting our station staffs in their efforts to developing quality web content and building audience, across multiple online platforms including traditional websites, mobile sites and now apps and syndication partners. Even though a job like mine didn’t exist 5 years ago, it’s the job I’ve dreamed about all my life. I’ve never been happier at work. I love working in the news/journalism business, and I love working in online media.

My wife Susan spent 25 years in the TV news business, and now she produces contemporary worship services for our home church, Anderson Hills United Methodist Church. Our son and daughter are typical kids, busy with school and all sorts of activities.

I’ll always be a Texan, but I have no plans to leave Cincinnati. Perhaps ever. There will always be a Chipcinnati.
